InformationGrid now supports deployment on UpCloud. Alongside Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, organisations can now choose European cloud infrastructure that supports their ambitions for digital sovereignty and control over their data.
This addition gives organisations more choice in the infrastructure on which they run InformationGrid. UpCloud adds a European alternative, with options to host environments in European data centres.
Greater control over digital infrastructure
For a growing number of organisations, choosing cloud infrastructure involves more than availability, performance and cost. Data location, the legal context and supplier dependencies also influence the decision.
By supporting UpCloud, InformationGrid provides an additional way to translate these considerations into a concrete infrastructure choice. Organisations can choose a European provider while continuing to work with InformationGrid’s model-based architecture.
Digital sovereignty requires coordinated choices. Alongside the cloud provider, access management, backups, operational management and connected services also matter. We consider these aspects when designing the environment.

Support for AWS, Azure and UpCloud reflects InformationGrid’s cloud-agnostic architecture. Organisations can align their infrastructure with their technical, organisational and legal requirements, without having to make a single cloud provider the starting point for their data architecture.
This is relevant both for applications within an organisation and for participation in dataspaces. European cloud infrastructure supports control over where and how data is processed. Within a dataspace, agreements, policies and authorisation then determine the conditions under which data is made available and used.
